Heard that about half of the Lillith Fair concerts have been canceled. I don’t know why those people were expecting sellouts at all their shows in this distressed economy. It was some really poor planning on the part of the concert organizers to even book some of those 3rd tier cities. Even more stupid to cancel all the low selling shows, when some of them could have easily been combined.
Heard a bluegrass band the other day. I was surprised that I liked their music. I’m not normally a fan of bluegrass. But their style was less twangy and more modern in some way. If you have a chance to give them a listen, I’d recommend you grab it.
Just happened across a casual mention about Billy Joe Shaver and checked it out by searching Google. Turns out Billy Joe had heart surgery recently and is in recovery from that. I don’t know why the local music rags didn’t pick up on that story – there’s a whole lot of people in this town who have recorded Billy Joe Shaver songs. You would think they would notice something major like that.
Well, we were going to go to Nashville Shores for the Fourth of July.
For the past 3 years that’s what we’ve done and they’ve put on a free fireworks show for everyone. It’s been a cool show because you sit on the sand or in your boat and watch the fireworks go out over the lake.
But I just found out that they aren’t doing it this year. Money problems, I guess.
