Friends have rolled into town and want to go around Music City. They insist on having barbecue ribs today. That’s not something that I usually order when I eat out. Not really sure if there are some hidden gems or do we stick to the obvious chains like Corky’s or Dave’s? Anyone have a suggestions on where to take these guys for good ribs?

The best fried chicken around here is from the grocery store deli. I’ve given up on KFC – it does not taste good any more and it is too damn expensive. Plus there are no locations convenient to my house. So even buying it takes a lot of planning and effort. But at the Publix I tried their deli chicken and it tastes great, its not very expensive, and it’s very easy to get to a Publix any where around town.

When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.

However, unless life also gives you sugar, water and ice cubes, your lemonade is gonna SUCK!

I’m really glad that Thanksgiving always falls on a Thursday. That means that we get a long weekend off from school or work. That means that we have 4 days to eat  huge dinner and all the leftovers. That means we can go out downtown for a kickass Friday night and Saturday night with a changed up crowd. A lot of the kids have gone home from here for the holiday, but then again, a lot of kids have come home to here and are out looking for a good time.

We have one place in town that has comedy every week. The club is a little dive called Zanies. It has a tiny stage and a bunch of tables and chairs that make the crowd packed in like sardines. The food is just bar food and costs too mcuh, so I never plan on actually eating there. Last time I was there they charged a two drink minimum on top of a $20 admission ticket. But the show was funny and worth the money. Afterwards, the headliner came out from backstage and mingled. We went over and said hello. It was cool to have access to the guy. I’m not sure how to spell his name without looking it up, but his name is like John Pinchett or Pinchete or something. He was on the Seinfeld finale and is a funny stand up comedian. I’d go again if he comes back to Zanies.
