For some reason, our President has decided to spend this Memorial Day weekend in Chicago on a mini vacation with his family. He is sending Vice President Biden to Arlington National Cemetery to do the honors at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers.

I wish he had found a way to fly back and forth between Chicago and DC to do these honors himself. I think family time is important, but so is honoring our soldiers.

For some reason, Yahoo is all its glory and great wisdom has decided to offer a”Thought for Today”:

“A timid person is frightened before a danger; a coward during the time; and a courageous person afterward.” — Jean Paul Richter, German author (1763-1825)

So who is the Almighty at Yahoo who picks these thoughts? Who decided that the general swarming masses need to even HAVE a “Thought for Today”? Wouldn’t Yahoo be better off if none of us bothered to have thoughts?

We swore in our new President, Barack Obama today. The networks provided live coverage for the whole day and the whole Nation watched as Barack flubbed the oath – but it was not his fault. The Chief Justice flubbed it first and Barack tried to be gracious and do it right, but it just didn’t fly.

They made him take the oath a second time, in private, in an over abundance of caution. Wouldn’t want to have a lawsuit over the very first thing he does!

Let’s see if we have big change that Obama went around promising. We need help down here in the homelands and I’m not talking about giving away billions of taxpayer dollars to wall sreet brokers and greedy mortgage company executives.
